Granada Estate Agency presents for sale a magnificent villa in Guadix. The history tells us that this house belonged to noble descendants of Alí Abenaxara, leader of the Muslims of Fiñana, who collaborated with the Catholic Monarchs for the surrender and capitulation of this Almerian city (1489), receiving different privileges. The following year he would participate in the appeasement of the Mudejar rebellion in Guadix and Fiñana, obtaining various grants in the repartimiento of Guadix. These descendants were the Piédrola Narváez family. Later it passed into the hands of the descendants of the Alarcón family, who moved to the Callejón del Hospital, while Don Luis Alarcón y Ariza bought the palace of Conde Luque or the Piedróla Narváez.

The two-storey house is organised around a quadrangular courtyard with galleries. There is also a second courtyard, probably used for service purposes, and at the back there is a garden area (currently a courtyard with a private swimming pool, barbecue and rest area).

The front is dominated by a stone lintelled doorway supported on two columns with decorated corbels, which currently belongs to the adjoining building. Above it is a small cantilevered balcony and the façade is crowned by a cornice with wooden corbels, and the building has undergone significant segregations, which has transformed the original appearance of the construction. It was part of the same building that adjoins it on the left. Even so, many old construction elements remain identifiable, such as the façade, the stairs, the courtyard structure, the floor slabs, the tower, etc.
At both ends there were two balconies with three semicircular arches at the front and two at the side. However, the one on the corner corresponding to this plot was demolished, although the projection corresponding to its floor plan is still marked on the front.

 

Ideally located in Duende Street, near the Plaza del Conde Luque. It was formerly the site of the Guadix Town Hall. Surrounded by services, shops, bars, banks, schools, etc. ……. 55 minutes from Granada city centre and its airport and 1 hour and 15 minutes from Almeria and its beaches.
